Ellie Goulding
Ellie Goulding (born Elena Jane Goulding, 30 December 1986, in Hereford, England) is a English singer-songwriter. The infectious electronic music of Ellie Goulding quickly propelled her to the top charts after she was noticed by the general public in the year 2010. The singer-songwriter was able to accomplish this through the singles "Starry Eyed" as well as "Guns and Horses". Although she started out writing songs in a folk-inflected style, she eventually grew into a more electronic-influenced artist, touching upon dance music and ambient synth pop. Goulding makes a mark as a contemporary artist due to her soprano voice and talent for making songs that are engaging and emotional. Her style is similar to Kate Bush, Imogen Heap as well as other artists similar to her. She ultimately signed a major-label deal to Polydor Records and began making arrangements to launch her debut album.
